- Her vocabulary has literally tripled this month. This truly amazes me. It's like something just clicked in her. She's always understood just about everything we've said to her, but now she's able to use words to respond or ask questions...some of the time. She is also able to repeat words if you ask her to. This is something that she couldn't do just a month ago!
- Favorite words and phrases: "whastha?" (what's that), why? (she must have picked this up at daycare - I think she says it 100 times a day), bus, car, ice (or ice water), "sambo" (for Sam, our cat), "soc bal" (soccer ball), poop, "eyelee" (Riley), "doe" (no), Whoa, wow.
- She loves to take her socks off and also be naked. This is new. Luckily she hasn't figured out to take her diaper off too!
- She loves "bubs" (bubbles) in her bath.
- She fights most diaper changes.
- Favorite foods: string cheese, pancakes, blueberries, strawberries, green beans, and carrots.
- Foods she won't eat: Pineapple, mango...she loves most food.
- She is deathly afraid of life size baby dino toy. My brother and I thought it'd be a good idea for Riley to have her cousins' dino that they no longer played with. Riley was scared for two days straight. Poor thing. Dino now resides in the basement hidden under a tarp.
- We finally lowered her crib to the lowest setting 2 weeks ago. She could finally get her foot up to the top of the bar.
- She now "hides" to poop. Daddy even found her once sitting on the toilet with a poopy diaper. She may be coming on to something here!
- All four of her eye teeth finally popped through. Poor thing was miserable for a week or more before the first one came through on the 25th. Hopefully we'll be done teething for awhile now.
- Favorite toys: Bunny, Piggy, balls, putting change into her clown bank (a Christmas gift from Great Grandpa Melvin), shopping cart, little people, school bus, toy kitchen, colors.
- She likes to wear sunglasses now.
- On the final day of tumbling class she decided to branch out and sit in the circle without crying. She also decided that she would join the other kids in the middle of the parachute without Mommy. Even more earth shattering, she walked up to the lady that she's always afraid of and handed her a ball! So instead of switching things up and beginning swim lessons we are sticking with tumbling for another 5 weeks. This time on Saturday mornings. Hopefully she'll enjoy it even more!

Riley Nicole At 1 Year, 7 Months
So when do you start referring to your baby in years and not months? I don't know, so I'm starting now. Officially over the 1 1/2 year bump. Riley has changed so much this past month. It's amazing how much she has really started to learn and develop. Here are some of her new and favorite things:
