I had a great Mother's Day this year! We had a lot to celebrate and made a lot of memories out of a great weekend.
Brett let me sleep in and then the kids brought up some breakfast in bed, complete with my gift...a homemade book. Brett had the kids color me a picture and they assembled it into a book. Riley and Harper were very proud of themselves.
We then decided to head out for our first trip to the zoo. Since we have a membership we let the kids direct where we went and skipped a few areas. We really never go to the petting zoo area because Riley can't stand the smell. But we did check out the new seal area and the African exhibit. Even though it wasn't quite finished it was really neat! We splurged and let the kids get their face painted. Riley chose to get a panda and Harper chose the caterpillar. Harp freaked out half way through when the lady touched her eye so hers ended with a few circles. Ri's was a bit freaky and skeletor-ish. But the girls loved them. After the zoo we spent the rest of the day catching up on sleep.
